2010

Health plans will cover your children on your family plan up to age 26.

2013

The Medicare Part D prescription drug doughnut hole continues to close, with even greater discounts. The discount in 2013 is 52.5 percent for brand-name drugs and 21 percent for generic drugs.

Medicare will make bonus payments to doctors who provide high-quality care.

The Health Insurance Marketplace opens October 1, allowing people to compare health plans, get questions answered and enroll in plans for coverage that will begin in 2014.

2014

The Medicare Part D prescription drug doughnut hole continues to close, with even greater discounts. The discount in 2014 is 52.5 percent for brand-name drugs and 28 percent for generic drugs.

Families and individuals can now shop for coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace. There will also be financial help through the marketplace to pay for coverage for low- and moderate-income families.

Small businesses with 50 or fewer employees can now shop for health coverage through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).

2019
